Hola Marisol, Could you please pass this “thank you” along to the manager of La Casa Que Canta? Val and I are back in Portland, where it’s cold and raining. But we’re still warm in our hearts from our visit to Zihuatanejo. I sent a review today into TripAdvisor, focusing on COVID protocols as I think many potential guests may be most concerned with that issue. I mentioned the beauty of La Casa Que Canta and spoke of the staff as well. It is the staff I’d like to discuss in this message. Everyone, simply everyone, on the hotel staff with whom we dealt was friendly, helpful, and kind. Laura, Teresa, and Yeney (I’m sure I’m not remembering her name correctly – she works evenings at the front desk) helped us with innumerable issues, from dining reservations to having a backgammon set in our room on our arrival to adjustments in the temperature of the plunge pool and the shower. Always smiling and waving to us as we walked by, they could not have made us feel more welcome. Then there are the men who work in the restaurant who must have legs of steel from climbing those stairs so many times every day. We mostly saw Irving, Fredi, Venustiano, Eloin, and Eleazar. All five were wonderful. They remembered our preferences immediately (green tea for me in the morning, chopped habaneros for Val with most meals), were consistently friendly, and made great menu suggestions. They paced the meals perfectly, and even when we were on the lower level lounge chairs, we never had dirty dishes remain very long. Venustiano made sure I learned that mantaquilla is butter, Irving showed us the iguanas at the tops of the palm trees, and every one of them made our meals a delight. I also want to thank you for our pre-arrival email exchanges. You reassured me that the hotel was serious about COVID protocols and that my special requests for our room were taken care of. Your prompt responses were much appreciated. Finally, by mentioning some of the staff I don’t mean to overlook others. The housekeepers who made our room immaculate every day and gave it the wonderful flower and candle accents. The groundskeepers who keep the hotel’s gardens so beautiful. And others who helped us in so many different ways. We’ll be back to La Casa Que Canta. Yes, for the beauty of the site, the great rooms, and the experience. But we’ll also be back because of the people who make La Casa Que Canta a truly magical place. It may take us a while – our jobs don’t allow us many luxury expenses – but we’ll be back. Muchas gracias,
"I can't say enough about this place. It's pure bliss. From the moment you walk in, life slows down a bit. Stunning views. Amazing and attentive staff. The grounds are breathtaking. We were there for 7 days and are already looking at dates to return. Laura, Irving, Patty.....thank you for taking such good care of us. The negative reviews on here are unfortunate. We met people that were on their 15th visit. Lots of regulars."
"Because we like variety and to explore new destinations, we dined out of the hotel all the other nights. Nearby boutique hotels offer fine dining experiences (Espuma and Tentaciones were terrific) and there are also inexpensive options in town less than a mile away. We walked to every restaurant and felt safe wherever we went. The hotel is on a steep hill, which didn't trouble us but may be tough for some people. If so, taxis were readily available and inexpensive. The entire staff was kind and helpful, the environment was serene. Now we've returned home relaxed and content after a week at La Casa Que Canta. We really loved it."
"If you need an escape, If you need sun and water, if you want to truly unwind, this is the place to be! And because of the way the hotel is designed every room is unique, with an unparalleled view of the bay and the coast. Every evening we were treated to the most amazing sunsets i've ever seen! Go! Go! Go! "
"Absolutely lovely place to spend a week being taken care of by the wonderful staff. The attention to detail in everything from the grounds to anticipating our needs to the fresh floral designs each evening during the turndown service. The staff, each and every one, from housekeeping to the wait staff and the front desk were wonderful and not only took care of our every need but exceeded them. The US has a "do not travel" advisory to the Mexican state of Guerrero. I will tell you that we felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time, even taking a daily walk to and from town. If I could give La Casa Que Canta more than five stars I definitely would. The staff definitely makes this place a must return to destination. Irving, we miss you already! Many, many thanks! "
"My husband and I have just returned from a week at this beautiful oasis. From the moment we stepped through the doorway, the staff here at Casa Que Canta went above and beyond the call of duty. We can't wait to return here once again. "
"When we told people we were visiting Zihuatanejo, many voiced concerns about safety in the region. It sounds like there was recently an isolated incident of someone being inebriated causing a scene and not some violent act against a random tourist. We felt extremely safe throughout our stay. We arranged taxi to and from airport from the hotel which was easy and safe. ( quick 15 minutes!!) All transfers were safe and organized into and out of town. We shopped a bit in town as well and felt safe. Don't let this deter you from visiting such a beautiful place and its lovely people. We had the BEST 5 days and can't wait to be back!! Muchas Gracias La Casa Que Canta!!! Heather and Hossein"
"We spent a week at La Casa que Canta. Our stay was divine. The hotel and its amenities are neat, clean, and beautiful. The grounds and pools are tended constantly. The view from our room was outstanding. The food at the restaurant was superbly prepared and presented—every bite was absolutely delicious. As beautiful as the hotel was, and it was very, very beautiful, the staff was even more so. They gave us top notch service, knew our names from the day we arrived, and took every care to ensure our stay was exceptional and unforgettable. Whatever we needed, the staff was able to provide us expeditiously. The hotel was a safe and secure environment, and our travels to nearby towns and beaches were equally safe. This is an outstanding hotel in a wonderful and beautiful city."
